ABOUT THE ARTIST:
PRABHATH GUNAWARDANE
I was born in the culturally rich island of Sri Lanka. I started to paint at a very young age, my parents and my brother persuaded me to paint with my own talents. I thank them and my teachers for teaching me all that I know of painting.
My art style ranges from many unique and cultured ways. Looking at another Artists work, it inspires me to get modern, different, and natural ideas that come to my imagination. To me there are endless creations of art. That’s why I don’t have any one particular subject of art. My main focus in whatever I paint is that my art is good in color and giving my art a modern look. For example I stated painting on watercolors, pencil, ink, canvas, and stringed art. I have also done some paintings in Sri Lanka.
In 1991 I migrated to the U.S. and lived in Virginia before relocation to North Carolina in 2007. Continuously I’ve have been painting the whole time.
